KAL posts record year for software sales

EDINBURGH, Scotland - A Scotland-based software company announced record sales for the year 2000 of its world-leading software platform for creating web-enabled, multi-vendor functions for ATMs and kiosks.

KALreported 3,300 shipments its flagship product Kalignite. The Kaliginite system is a Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 2000 component based software suite, built on industry standards. The system provides the framework for robust, interoperable self-service applications.

The record total of shipments shows a year-on-year growth for KAL in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) as well as in the United States. More than 55 percent of all shipments went to The EMEA region, while 35 percent of orders went to North America. Shipments to South America and Asia-Pacific contributed 10 percent of shipments.

In addition, KAL announced that its customers deployed 20 new Kalginite-based applications during 2000, including new ATM, bill payment, gift certificate and e-commerce applications. KAL also achieved growth in providing software for emerging kiosk businesses, especially for complex, transaction-based solutions requiring peripheral devices such as cash acceptance, card dispensing and check handling.
