KAL breaks 8,000 mark for product shipments

EDINBURGH, Scotland -- Software provider KAL Inc. announced Sept. 24 it has shipped more than 8,000 copies of its flagship Kalignite product throughout the world.

The company says it is a leading provider of Web-enabled, multi-vendor software for self-service systems based on Microsoft's Windows Operating Systems, including kiosks and ATMs.

The Europe, Middle East and Africa region accounted for 50 percent of KAL's shipments; North America received 35 percent. Shipments to South America and the Asia-Pacific region account for the remaining 15 percent, according to the release.

KAL's Kalignite Software Platform is a Microsoft Windows component-based software suite used to create kiosk and ATM applications. Kalignite is also used in bill payment and "Web-wrap" systems for the retail industry and branch banking among others. Nearly 70 different applications have been developed using the Kalignite system, according to the release.
