Securus Technologies, provider of civil and criminal justice technology solutions for public safety, investigation, corrections and monitoring has acquired exclusive rights to Jobview's 2nd Chance application, the company said.

Jobview 2nd Chance is designed to help the nearly 650,000 people released  yearly from state and federal prisons shorten the time it takes to find a job.

"This is a significant part of our tablet program and recidivism strategy," said Securus Chairman Richard A. Smith. "We need to help ensure those incarcerated, don't come back to prison. There's no better way than to help them get a job upon their release – that's good for them, society and their families. Finding a job before release AND getting more education are keys to reducing recidivism – and the Jobview product goes right to the heart of finding productive work."

Jobview 2nd Chance works with free standing kiosks, as a software desktop application and on Securus's SecureView Tablet. The software services are used by correctional facilities, probation officers, halfway houses and other reentry locations to enable prisoners returning to the community to search for jobs.

Jobview's secure version functions without access to keyboards or the Internet. The user interface is designed to be intuitive so that no training is required, regardless of an individual's experience with computers. Prisoners utilizing Jobview 2nd Chance receive a 30 to 60 day head start on finding a job, the announcement said.
