LAS VEGAS - JCM American Corporation has disputed claims made against the company by a competitor as baseless and intends to vigorously defend its position, according to a news release. MEI's parent corporation has filed a lawsuit against JCM American and Japan Cash Machine Co., Ltd. for alleged patent infringement, claiming JCM's Universal Bill Acceptor violates certain MEI patents.
The UBA made its world premiere at Wynn Las Vegas in April and will make its Mississippi debut at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi in September.
JCM vice president for gaming solutions Tom Nieman said, "Given the media accolades and overwhelmingly positive OEM and operator acceptance the UBA has received, the court of public opinion has clearly found the UBA is simply a better product than those offered by competitors. We are confident the Federal Courts will find competitor's claims of patent infringement as unfounded as we do. JCM will continue to create leading currency solutions for the gaming industry and for all the industries we serve."
