Frozen food and flower retailers are installing vending machines during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report in thenewsmotion.com.

Frozen food machines are expanding in Japan as restaurants seek to continue to sell food after having to close due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sanden Retail Systems Corp. sold more than 1,000 frozen food machines by the end of September in 2021 after introducing them in January. The machines offered a variety of products including hamburger steaks, beef tongues, salmon and cakes.

Hibiya-Kadan Floral Co. introduced vending machines for flowers at Shinjuku Station and commercial buildings in Tokyo last year.

Sales of beverages in vending machines declined, particularly at those in train stations and tourist attractions.
