The Jackson-George Regional Library System in Mississippi has implemented self-serve kiosks to enhance the book checkout experience for patrons, according to a WKRG report. These user-friendly kiosks are now available at all branches, allowing library users to quickly scan their library cards and books and complete the checkout process with a simple "log out" click.
"Our goal is to make library visits as convenient as possible," Assistant Director CMS/IT Jeanne Damiano told the news outlet. "The kiosks offer a faster checkout option while our friendly staff remain readily available for assistance."
In addition to streamlining the checkout process, the kiosks provide a private and convenient platform for patrons to manage their library accounts.
