A Jackson, Mississippi councilman is addressing confusion surrounding the recently-installed downtown parking kiosks, according to a WAPT 16 report.

The kiosks were installed in late April and activated on May 1. Councilman Kenneth Stokes told the news outlet that, since then, he has received many calls from people who are confused about how to use the kiosks and are receiving parking tickets after they thought they had used them correctly.

"Instead of giving citizens tickets that they do not deserve, I think we need to have a 90-day grace period. Let's educate the citizens on how to use the meters," Stokes told the news outlet. Stokes also plans on addressing the matter at the next city council meeting.
