Iowa approves sports gambling

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has approved legislation allowing betting on sports event and the state’s racing and gaming commission is now at work on regulations and rules.

The news comes on the heels of Montana approving a law that will give the state's lottery the capability to regulate sports gambling via mobile apps and kiosks, according to a Court House News Service report.The Montana law lets licensed restaurants and bars run gambling kiosks and allows patrons to use mobile applications to place bets while inside the licensed operations.

Iowa's bill lets those 21 years and older bet on college, professional and other sport events, including fantasy sports.
