Investors raise funds for self-serve robotic pizza machine

June 16, 2020

A group of investors is raising money for a self-serve robotic pizza machine that can deliver artisanal pizzas in less than three minutes, according to a post on startengine.com.

The fully-automated Piestro machine allows for zero contact food preparation, zero food waste, consistent quality, and a lower cost of operation compared to a restaurant, according to the post. The company has so far raised $161,243 and is backed by lead investor, Wavemaker Partners, a venture capital firm, and Wavemaker Labs, a food automation focused venture studio.

The team includes executives and founders from Miso Robotics, Kitchen United, SBE Entertainment Group, Graze Autonomous Mowers, and Wolfgang Puck, according to the post.

The machine is roughly the size of two vending machines and requires no employees to operate.
