TACOMA, Wash. - InsynQ Inc. (OTCBB:ISNQ) has signed a Letter of Intent with Hard Disc Cafe Inc. to organize a joint venture to offer low-cost, high-speed, public Internet access terminals.
The Virtual Desktop kiosks will be placed in Internet cafes and public locations in North America and elsewhere. InsynQ will provide equipment, storage networks, hosted software applications, content and technical support.
InsynQ president and chief executive officer John Gorst said the company's IdesQ thin-clients will give users e-mail, Internet access and productivity applications like Microsoft Office 2000.
Michael Zwebner, president of Hard Disc Cafe, said that heavy financial and technology investments are no longer needed. Hard Disc Café can place Virtual Desktops into any existing retail location anywhere in the world and use InsynQ to run traffic and control the business.
Florida-based Hard Disc Cafe builds and operates themed Internet Cafes under the trade name Space Express @ Mission Control. The company has two 4,000 - 5,000 square foot locations under construction in the Internet Plaza in Sacramento, Calif. and in the South Beach area of Miami. Both locations, scheduled to open this fall, will house 60 - 100 terminals each.
