BURNABY, B.C. -- Info Touch Technologies Corp. announced the deployment of nine public Internet kiosks as part of a community access program.

This initiative aims to increase access for patients, families and others to health information via the Web, according to a news release.

Kiosks have been installed in a number of sites in the Capital Health region, in addition to the two at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The facilities are University of Alberta Hospital, Leduc Community Hospital, Northeast Community Health Centre, Sturgeon Community Hospital, Misericordia Community Hospital, Grey Nuns Community Hospital, the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital and Strathcona Public Health Centre.

"We are thrilled to provide the technology for convenient public access to health information," said Hamed Shahbazi, chairman and chief executive officer of Info Touch.

"Through this ongoing initiative, more people will have access to public health-related information and services."
