Info Touch sheds the wires with latest strategy

April 4, 2004

BURNABY, British Columbia -- Info Touch Technologies Corp. (CDNX:IFT), reacting to trends in the electronic marketplace, has unveiled a strategy to integrate wireless units into its Surfnet kiosk program.

Using wireless technology, the company's kiosks can now work with wireless devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs). A variety of services are available in wireless form, including downloading files and electronic coupons to PDAs, paying bills, and transmitting e-mails.

Info Touch officials said wireless technology is currently a core component of client proposals and will receive special attention throughout the company's divisions. At the moment, 802.11b (Wi-Fi) remains one of the most popular forms of wireless protocol because of its high-data rates and marketplace ubiquity.

[Editor's note: Info Touch Technologies became Tio Networks in April 2006.]
