Indonesia installs reverse vending machines at ports for plastic recycling

The government run Indonesia ferry operation, PT ASDP, has installed reverse vending machines and drop boxes at ports and its branch offices to collect used plastic bottles, according to an antaranews.com report. It has also installed waste recycling drop boxes at four locations in Merak and Jakarta.

Additional installations are planned.

The operation's "Save Our Ocean" campaign seeks to achieve sustainable development goals concerning consumption, production and climate action below water.
