The Indian Navy recently installed an information kiosk and teller at the offices of its Principal Controller of Defense Accounts, according to IndianExpress.com.
The kiosks are aimed at making the controller's office more transparent and its work more fluid by providing both individuals and vendors working on Navy projects access to accounts and information on expenditures, payment schedules, claims and salary increases.
The Navy also installed a single-point teller machine for processing and making payments to civilian employees and contractors. Apparently, the payments can be processed in about 25 minutes, as opposed to the week or more it previously took.
