A recently appointed parking commission is considering parking kiosks or meters in downtown Columbus, Indiana as a way to enforce the three-hour parking limits, according to a report in The Republic.

Violations of the limits has resulted in a shortage of on-street parking.

One issue is whether the city should choose meters, which regulate single spaces, or kiosks, which serve multiple spaces.

Commission members discussed the need to begin enforcing parking restrictions which have not been enforced for about a year.
