Karnataka, Southwest India, bank ICICI announced at a press briefing that one year after introducing automated kiosks at its Kalidasa Road location 43 percent of the branch's transactions, including check deposits and cash, were conducted at its Touch Banking kiosk, according to news source The Hindu
An ICICI spokesperson said in the article, "Around 15 percent of customers transact at these devices during post-banking hours."
The kiosks also offer account information via video conferencing and Internet banking.
"The figure of 43 percent of the branch's transactions does not include cash withdrawal, as it has become the norm to withdraw cash from ATMs now," the spokesperson said.
The Touch Banking kiosk is available at 23 branches in the state, with 21 based in Bengaluru and one in Mangaluru. ICICI said the company has deployed 101 of the stations across 33 cities in India.
