India provides self-serve banking kiosks to banks

MCT Cards & Technology Private Ltd., a subsidiary of Manipal Technologies Ltd. and a manufacturer of banking and smart cards, has delivered self-serve banking kiosks to banks in India under the recent 75 Digital Banking Units in 75 Districts initiative launched by the government, according to a press release.

The kiosks will serve as brick-and-mortar outlets for the banks. The kiosks include an account opening kiosk, an instant personalized debit card issuance kiosk, a passbook printing kiosk, an Internet banking kiosk and a tab banking kiosk.

Customers will be able to open a bank account, get a personalized debit card, print bank statements and use other banking services. They will be able to open a banking account and get a personalized debit card within 10 minutes.
