The Illinois State Police Firearms Service Bureau will introduce kiosks to allow people to apply for firearm owner identification cards at self-serve kiosks, according to a wcia.com report.

The kiosks will help customers who don't have access to online devices and will reduce a backlog of FOID requests.

The three kiosks will be located in the northern, central and southern regions of the state.

The central kiosk will be at the Illinois state police's central headquarters in Springfield and will be open 8:30 a.m. to noon on weekdays and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends.
