Carvana, an e-commerce platform for buying and selling used cars online that offers a car vending machine, will continue selling and buying vehicles at its facility in Oak Brook, Illinois under an agreement reached Tuesday with the Illinois Secretary of State, according to a press release.
The state suspended the company's license on May 10, 2022 after following customer complaints in February. The state lifted the suspension on May 26 after the company agreed to conduct business under strict guidelines, then reinstated the suspension in July, claiming the company continued to fail to follow its laws.
"We look forward to working with Secretary (Alexi) Giannoulias to ensure customers continue having access to the best car buying and selling experience possible," Alan Hoffman, Carvana head of corporate affairs, said in a prepared statement quoted in the release.
