February 26, 2002

BRANFORD, Conn. - James Perakis, the former chairman and chief executive officer of Hyperion Solutions Corp., is bringing his software expertise to the kiosk world. Perakis has been named to the board of directors of kiosk software developer Netkey Inc. and has made an unspecified investment in the company.

Perakis was named chief executive officer of Hyperion, at the time called Hyperion Software, in 1985 and remained there until the company merged with Arbor Software in 1998. The company grew in annual revenue from $1 million in `85 to $295 million for the fiscal year ending June 1998. Hyperion develops analytic and information solutions for multinational companies.

Perakis, who also worked for Chase Decision Systems and Interactive Data Corp. before joining Hyperion, has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from Columbia University's School of Business.

"Jim brings to Netkey the strategic vision, proven record of accomplishment and the hard-earned experience of what it takes to grow a successful enterprise software company," Alex Richardson, Netkey chief executive officer, said in a news release. "His guidance will be a huge asset to our organization as we build on our leadership role and capitalize on the boundless opportunities available in the emerging market for self-service technology."
