SAN DIEGO -- High Technology Solutions (HTS) announced it has designed a set of interactive kiosks for a recently opened exhibit at the "Hall of Champions" in San Diego that features local sports figures who have been awarded for their outstanding contributions to sports and to the community.
Using a custom software solution, HTS created an interactive, multimedia display that showcases these award winners through the use of photos, videos and integrated information, all within the design of the exhibit. Attendees can search for their favorite athletes using the attached rugged keyboard and touchscreen display, according to a news release.
"These units provide an effective and efficient way to get information to the public that was previously unavailable. The format is a lot of fun for both kids and adults," said Kelly Mundell, general manager of HTS' interactive media division.
Todd Tobias, former curator for the San Diego Hall of Champions, said, "The HTS interactive kiosks were the perfect way to present large amounts of information to our patrons in an attractive and fun manner."
He said the kiosks allow the Hall of Champions to represent hundreds of athletes' biographies and statistical information, which can be updated at any time. An exhibit with so much information would typically required hundreds of feet of wall space and a full-time employee to update.
HTS has also done other projects for the San Diego Hall of Champions, including the Chargers' Hall of Fame kiosk, the San Diego Baseball Prominence Kiosk, and the San Diego Football Prominence Kiosk.
HTS also supplies its back-office server software, called TouchManager, which ties all the kiosks together on the network, allowing them to be easily updated.
