FLINT, Mich. -- HP (NYSE: HPQ) is giving Kettering University students a direct line to campus information with a campus-wide wireless network. The $107,000 services and technology contribution includes wireless kiosks, according to a Kettering news release.
HP is deploying two SlimLine wireless kiosks and three wireless access devices that provide network access for wireless personal computers. The kiosks accommodate 15-inch LCD monitors that display a welcome to visitors and information on campus events.
HP plans to add interactive campus maps and an infrared download capability for hand-held devices such as HP's iPAQ Pocket PCs, according to the release.
Kettering, in Flint, Mich., has 2,500 undergraduates studying engineering, applied sciences, mathematics and business.
