Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. is installing self-serve check-in kiosks at its Sheraton Hotels & Resorts' facilities around the U.S, according to the Pacific Business News.
The check-in system, called Sheraton Speed Check, was tested successfully at the Sheraton Boston and the "W" hotel in New York's Times Square.
"Slow check-in has traditionally been a major guest concern," said Sheraton Executive Vice President Norman MacLeod. "Our new kiosks help to alleviate that concern."
He said it takes less than a minute for check-in or checkout using the kiosks. Besides those services, the Sheraton kiosks check guest messages, print and e-mail personal folios, and arrange for extra keys or upgrades.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has more than 740 properties in more than 80 countries and 110,000 employees at its owned and managed properties. It is a fully integrated owner, operator and franchiser of hotels and resorts including: St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin, Four Points by Sheraton, and "W" facilities.
