Hospital sign-in kiosks add Spanish option

PatientTrak announced it has added a Spanish option to its patient sign-in kiosk to accommodate Spanish speaking patients.

October 23, 2015

Healthcare technology company PatientTrak announced it has added a Spanish language option to its patient sign-in kiosk, according to a press release.

The kiosk is built to be HIPAA compliant and only requires an Internet connection and a power supply to run, the company said. Patients may enter their information into the kiosk via a touchscreen, and the kiosk software will identify the patient's appointment time and add them to the arrival queue. Hospital staff can view this information from their computers or flatscreen monitors.

"Many of our current and prospective customers have stated the need for a Spanish-language kiosk, and we are happy to provide them with this critical function," said James W. Hermann, president of Lumin Medical, the parent company of PatientTrak. "It is very important that patient information is clearly communicated and captured during the patient access process and the Spanish-language option certainly supports that."

The kiosk is designed to be compatible with any Electronic Medical Record system, according to the release.
