HITEC hospitality show showcases tech

More than 6,000 participants and 750 exhibitors are expected to attend the HITEC 2001 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Show June 26-28 in the Orange Country Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Kiosk exhibitors include Cybertotems, EKiosk Corp., Info Touch Technologies Corp., Meridian Kiosks, NetNearU, and Elo Touchsystems. At the show, Info Touch will be demonstrating its Surfnet software. NetNearU is showcasing its new public wireless Internet access point.

The HITEC show, launched in 1974, has grown significantly in recent years. In 2000, attendance was 5,840, up from 1,825 in 1993. During the same period, the number of exhibitors increased from 252 to 668.

The conference presentations cover technology topics geared to the hospitality business on customer relationship management, wireless systems, telecom, IT for non-IT professionals, e-commerce, purchasing point of sale systems, and Web development for the hospitality industry.

Exhibit halls are open daily from late morning until 6 p.m.
