In downtown Denver, an automated coffee kiosk called Javai Coffee has opened at 16th Street and Wazee Street, according to a CBS News report.
The kiosk operates 24/7, serving espresso drinks in under a minute. It is part of the ongoing revitalization of the 16th Street corridor.
Co-Owner Grant Ross said the goal is to provide affordable coffee to downtown workers, tourists and others at any hour. He noted that while the machine is automated, the business model focuses on local sourcing and job creation for service technicians.
"We're not taking barista jobs, we're creating opportunities," Ross told the news outlet. "We want everything about this to be Colorado, from the ingredients to the people keeping it running."
The business uses fresh milk and beans from Colorado vendors and plans to expand its presence on 16th Street.
