WEST CHESTER, Pa.--Making unattended cash transactions faster and more reliable is the goal of the new Cashflow SC bill acceptor from MEI. By integrating this bill acceptor into kiosks, self check-out systems or other unattended points of sale, retailers can handle more transactions per day while improving customer satisfaction, according to a news release.
The Cashflow SC is a higher-end alternative to the MEI AE2800 bill acceptor launched in September. The new product is equipped with an easy-to-use consumer interface, advanced processing technology and new algorithms to reject counterfeit bills, while quickly accepting legal currency without jamming, the release said. MEI's application program interface CD ROM makes it easy to integrate Cashflow SC into any retail system.
The bill acceptor has new bill-transport and bill-recognition systems that allow customers to feed in any legal currency, in any direction, regardless of the physical condition. The bill acceptor scans more of the surface of each bill than traditional bill acceptors, according to the release. MEI Cashflow SC can process bills in 2.5 seconds, with a jam rate of 1 in 30,000 bills, the release said.
"Retailers realize that they can't ignore their cash customers, especially for kiosks and other systems that let customers make their own purchases. We're providing them with an easy, affordable means of integrating a cash payment option into these systems," said Otto Lohse, industry market manager for MEI's Retail division.
