HealthWare Systems, a provider of software solutions aimed at improving workflow processes, today announced the release of its ActiveKIOSK patient self-check-in kiosk.
Intended for use by hospitals and health care providers, the ActiveKIOSK simplifies patient check-in; provides wayfinding information; populates electronic wait lists for each area; and allows hospitals to streamline the workflow of its receptionists and registrars, leaving them free to concentrate on other integral parts of the patient check-in and registration process, according to a release from the company.
The kiosk also provides hospital administrators with real-time oversight, which can help identify bottlenecks in specific registration areas throughout the day and across the entire facility or system.
"ActiveKIOSK lets patients use a touchscreen interface to check in, provides methods for managing an electronic wait list with advanced queuing and routing options and offers instructions and wayfinding maps to the patient, all from the same system," said Steve Gruner, president of HealthWare Systems. "It can even be linked to our ActiveTRACK module, giving hospitals the ability to measure patient wait and registration times and manage them more effectively to improve patient satisfaction."
