PORTLAND, Ore. -- Armed with new features and expanded content, health and wellness information developer Healthnotes Inc. launched version 7.5 of its touchscreen kiosk information suite on Sept. 4.
The company, which licenses its health and wellness information products to 6,500 groceries, pharmacies, and health-food stores in North America and the UK, has added more than 100 new and updated articles and a new menu search feature to version 7.5. The menu search allows customers to find recipes based on the item's main ingredient.
"Studies have shown that consumers want more health and lifestyle information available to them in-store to help them make informed purchase decisions," Healthnotes president and chief executive officer Skye Lininger said in a news release.
The software package also includes additional services for retailers. One new service is a category management report, which provides retailers with information on their customers' specific needs and interests. The system tracks customer usage of the kiosk and identifies high-traffic areas.
Version 7.5 also includes five department-specific applications so retailers can customize Healthnotes to certain areas of the retail outlet. The departments are Healthnotes Pharmacy, Healthnotes Natural Options, Foodnotes, Meat & Seafood, and Fresh Produce. Each department features customized screens and specific information, but also offers links to other parts of version 7.5. Healthnotes officials said the customized screens allow retailers to deploy multiple kiosks in one location.
