Clearwave has announced record growth for 2014, with more than double the sales from the previous year.
The Atlanta-based provider of automated administrative and health care services said that self-service kiosks "exploded" on the market this year, particularly in the health care sector.
The company attributed the increasing demand for self-service patient registration kiosks to four factors:
The first, revenue cycle pressures, indicates the demand stems from the increasing responsibility insurance companies have placed on patients for health care costs. Using self-service kiosks, providers can ensure insurance validation and payment collection, the company said. Clearwave also points to patient satisfaction as a factor, saying that patients' growing financial responsibility for health care snowballed into a demand for better service. Patients most often complain about long lines, time spent waiting and repetitive paperwork. Paperless automated kiosks decrease waiting room time by 70 percent, leading to an increase in patient satisfaction, the company said.
The efficiency kiosks offer allows providers to see more patients, providing revenue growth, a third factor. And lastly, changing regulatory compliance provides opportunities to easily make updates via kiosks, without the need for staff involvement.
"We work closely with our customers and guide them through the journey of transforming their registration processes," said Eric Anderson, chief operating officer at Clearwave, in the announcement. "We partner with our customers and take great pride in the results we achieve together. It is immensely satisfying to see the positive impact self-service kiosks are having in health care."
