Health benefits company launches new software platform

July 16, 2002

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- Benefitfocus Inc., which produces Internet- and kiosk-based software solutions for employee benefits packages, has released a new software platform for health insurance carriers and corporations.

The company's Consumer-Driven Health Plan (CDHP) platform supports a variety of benefit plan designs. Through the use of help screens, CDHP is designed to take customers through a range of financial options. It can also be used as a portal for company employees to access information on their health plans and search for hospital, physician, and medical information.

CDHP is currently being integrated with several health plans, according to company officials, and will be rolled out to clients on Oct. 1. The company did not disclose any price points for the package.
