NCR Corp. teamed up with First Hawaiian Bank to introduce an interactive approach to banking at the grand opening of its Waiakea branch.
NCR Interactive Services software will enable FHB customers to conduct teller transactions on a financial services kiosk with a touchscreen interface. This will allow FHB to expand service hours an additional 15 hours per week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
"We've equipped our new Waiakea Branch with a number of innovative technologies that will greatly enhance the customer experience. These video teller machines using NCR technology allow us to deliver financial services efficiently, yet still with that important personal touch for our customers," said Bob Harrison, chairman, president and CEO, First Hawaiian Bank, in a company statement.
FHB is one of the first U.S. financial institutions to utilize NCR's interactive software on the NCR SelfServ 91 hardware platform, according to the statement. The solution provides tellers remote control of an ATM-like device to engage customers over two-way video. Customers can perform transactions without using a traditional ATM card and receive cash via remote branch tellers.
