An initiative called Our Healthbox led by researchers at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto will expand harm reduction vending machines with the goal of placing 100 machines in three years, according to a filgermag.org report.
The machines have touchscreens that share information about local health care services and will dispense naloxone, syringes, HIV testing kits and condoms.
Users create an account on the touchscreen but are not required to provide identifiable information.
The initiative has already launched in four New Brunswick communities.
