‘Harm reduction’ vending machine offers free supplies to drug users

Caracole Inc., an HIV/AIDS service organization in Cincinnati, has installed a "harm reduction vending machine" outside the organization's headquarters that offers free fentanyl test strips, safe use supplies and Narcan, a drug used to reverse overdoses, according to a spectrumnews1.com report.

More than 50 people registered to use the machine as of last month.

A phone number on the machine connects to Caracole's harm reduction service coordinators.
