A harm reduction vending machine in Cincinnati has been used by more than 1,000 people since the machine was installed by a social service agency two years ago, according to a ksat.com report.
Researchers said the machine has contributing to a decline in overdose deaths in Cincinnati and the surrounding area.
Caracole, an HIV/AIDS service organization in Cincinnati, installed the machine. Interact for Health, a granting organization, funded the machine.
Area Wide Electronics & Refrigeration, a vending equipment distributor based in nearby Waynesville, Ohio, designed and assembled the machine.
