The GTI Southeast Asia Expo 2026 is scheduled for April 21–23 at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, positioning itself as a key gathering for the amusement equipment and cultural tourism industries.

Organizers say the event will bring together global manufacturers, operators and stakeholders to tap into growing demand across Southeast Asia, which they describe as a high-potential market for large-scale entertainment and tourism projects.

The opening ceremony is expected to feature government officials and industry leaders, including representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and regional trade offices. Industry associations and major operators such as Chimelong Group and the Philippines' Enchanted Kingdom are also slated to participate, underscoring the event's emphasis on international collaboration between public and private sectors.

Held alongside a China (Guangdong)-Malaysia trade and investment promotion conference, the expo aims to facilitate direct procurement opportunities. Organizers report that more than 4,000 buyers are expected to attend, including developers, theme park operators, resort groups and distributors. Companies such as Sime Darby, Genting Group and Country Garden Pacificview are among those identified as having active purchasing plans.

The event also aligns with Malaysia's broader tourism ambitions, including a major cultural tourism development planned for the Strait of Malacca as part of the "Visit Malaysia 2026" initiative. That project is expected to drive demand for amusement equipment, design services and technology solutions, offering exhibitors an opportunity to establish partnerships and gain early access to emerging projects in the region.
