Boat parking meters that charge $60 a night to dock have been met with mixed reviews in Grand Haven, Michigan, according to a WZZM 13 report.
The price is for parking during the Coast Guard Festival and, while some residents understand that event parking is pricier, other residents are concerned that the kiosks are making it more expensive to park their boats downtown.
While the fees will reduce to $30 overnight once the festival is over, WZZM reported the fees are consistent with what has been charged and that the kiosks are the biggest change.
"I get it. I get it. It's kind of like parking at a football game or a basketball game but like I said, there's only a few spots. There's very few spots in Grand Haven. It's hard for the best spot to be with all the concerts, activities, food vendors right out there, right off the walkway, all the vendors and all the restaurants and stuff," Steve Frody, visiting the festival from Hudsonville, told the news outlet.
