Global Display Solutions to present at SID 2005

April 17, 2005

BINGLEY WEST YORKS, England - Global Display Solutions Ltd., market leader in the design and manufacture of industrial displays, will be exhibiting at the Society for Information Display conference 2005, May 22-27, Boston, Mass. in booth # 701. According to a news release, GDS is offering all SID attendees the opportunity to view its range of products including the Piezo Inverter, its 37-inch and 46-inch large screen TFT's, 37-inch touchscreen LCD, the optically enhanced TFT display and the Mitra sunlight-readable display.

GDS's new optically enhanced TFT is specifically designed for use in environments when ambient lighting conditions are high, such as public information kiosks and flight and rail information displays. The display, which forms part of GDS's recently launched Industrial Range, has enhanced brightness and contrast, making the screen easier to read.

The sunlight-readable display, the Mitra, will also be available at SID 2005. The Mitra is a competitively priced, commercially viable high-brightness display which is stable in design and utilizes proven technology.

GDS's touchscreen LCD is the result of a collaboration with NextWindow Ltd., designer and developer of optical imaging technologies in the field of touch recognition. The technology recognizes where the user touches the screen by utilizing an infrared-illuminated frame and custom line-scan cameras to determine touchpoint. The touch can be registered up to 1 millimeter before physical contact on the screen's surface.
