Global Axcess Corp, an independent provider of self-service kiosk solutions, today announced that it has retained industry veteran Michele Dundas Macpherson as a consultant for driving demand and growing the company's DVD kiosk initiative nationwide.
Macpherson, as vice president of entertainment for NCR Corp., was the general manager of the retail consumer business operating more than 2,000 DVD/media rental kiosks across North America, helping to negotiate a multi-year deal with Blockbuster Inc. to deploy and operate the BLOCKBUSTER Express DVD-rental kiosk brand.
Before working for NCR, Macpherson was senior vice president for DVDPlay Inc., a retail/entertainment company operating 1,200 DVD kiosks in the U.S. and Canada, and before that she was a senior vice president for Encentuate Inc., a security software company focused on providing solutions for identity and access management that was acquired by IBM.
Macpherson is Managing Partner of Macpherson & Associates, a firm that provides strategic positioning, fundraising and general management for clients in retail, entertainment, self-serve kiosks, technology and social media. With over twelve years of general management consulting and venture capital experience, she has been instrumental in defining and implementing strategy for dozens of clients.
"The retention of Michele Macpherson powerfully underlines our intention to become a player in the rapidly growing market for DVD kiosks," said Global Axcess CEO George McQuain. "Michele has a tremendous reputation and proven experience in this industry, and her expertise will be invaluable as we aggressively grow this portion of our business."
