Giant Eagle plans to replace DVD rental stores with kiosks

PittsburghPost-Gazette: Giant Eagle is preparing to dim the lights on its 100 Iggle Video locations to make way for hundreds of automated kiosks. A company spokesman described the move, which is expected to occur over the next nine months, as coming in response to industry trends and consumer demand, neither of which has favored the traditional movie rental market in recent years. Replacing the Iggle Videos will be redbox DVD rental machines.
