Germany plans to spend 6.3 billion euros ($6.17 billion) over the next three years on its EV charging infrastructure, expanding the existing 70,000 charging points to 1 million by 2030, according to a report in The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Volker Wissing, the nation's transportation minister, presented a plan Wednesday that the cabinet of Chancellor Olaf Scholz passed earlier that day.
The government will provide real estate for new charging stations and offer subsidies to private car owners to install solar energy panels at their homes.
