German law paves way for RFID passports

CRM Buyer: Germany's upper house of Parliament has approved a bill to deploy passports that contain biometric data. Plans are underway to begin issuing the passports this fall, allowing German citizens to continue to enter the U.S. without a visa. The "ePass" passport will use a semiconductor containing a digital photo of the traveler; within two years, chips will also hold digital copies of the traveler's fingerprints.
