BRAUNSCHWEIG, Germany - Get used to the name Termimac Informationssysteme in North American kiosk circles. The German-based company recently signed letters of intent with a pair of American companies to develop Termimac's Apple-based information kiosk systems on this side of the Atlantic.
Termimac has signed a software development deal with Lincoln, Neb.-based kiosk technology developer nanonation. The company has also reached an agreement with Houston-based communications arts firm Savage Design Group.
nanonation will provide the software architecture for any systems the two companies develop in the United States. In early October, nanonation announced it had developed a new kiosk architecture incorporating Apple Computer's Mac OS X operating system (See story: nanonation turns to Apple, Frank Mayer).
Dietmar Bach, Termimac's founder and owner, said he was confident the two deals would help establish his company in the North American marketplace.
"These partnerships mean that we will enter the American market with the help of established partners who will further enhance out product offering," Bach said in a news release.
According to its Web site, Termimac's market includes pharmacies, retailers, museums, and doctors.
