Georgia corrections kiosks facilitate faster probation payments

October 23, 2013

General Payment Systems Inc. announced that it will provide kiosk-based payment and tracking technology for probation needs through CSRA Probation Services, which services approximately 60 courts throughout Georgia.

The technology allows probationers to complete a required monthly check-in and submit payment using thermal fingerprint biometric technology.

"CSRA is a well-respected probation services provider used in a large number of court systems in Georgia," said Ronald Hodge, CEO, General Payment Systems. "Their success and reputation in the state made them an appropriate partner for this collaboration. With a large book of probations accounts, we hope to soon become a popular method for the monthly payments and fees required for probation."

Michael Popplewell, president of CSRA/Georgia Corrections Corporation, said the kiosks will not only make the probation officer's job easier, but also increase the chances of a positive outcome for those supervised.

"A primary key for success in the field of community corrections is to remove as many obstacles as possible that might hinder the progress of those we supervise," he said.
