LOS ANGELES -- GenesisIntermedia.com Inc. (Nasdaq:
GENI) (Frankfurt: GIA and affiliates of theMacerich Company(NYSE:MAC), has signed an agreement for GENI to install Centerlinq public Internet kiosk network in eight shopping malls owned by Macerich. The eight properties identified for Centerlinq installation serve approximately 10 million consumers per month.Seven of the initial eight malls to receive Centerlinq are located in the Los Angeles and San Francisco markets. This will increase the number of Centerlinq locations in the greater Los Angeles area to 13 and in the San Francisco Bay area to five.
The Centerlinq network has already gone live in Valley View Center, a large regional shopping mall in Dallas, and the first of the Macerich malls to be equipped under the agreement.
The partnership gives GENI the largest market share of any public Internet portal in two of the country's biggest markets: Los Angeles and San Francisco, said Chairman and CEO Ramy El-Batrawi.
The Centerlinq advertising and consumer aggregation network provides Internet access via a touchscreen computer terminal and attracts a diverse audience with one of the largest loyalty shopping programs in the United States. In addition to Internet access, the Centerlinq kiosks provide coupons, directories of stores, e-mail and quick-touch access to high-profile national and regional advertising partners. GENI recently added an instant picture e-mail function to the Centerlinq network.
