Garden Plain provides safe, free kiosk for drug disposal

The City of Garden Plain, Kansas has opened a MedSafe kiosk at City Hall, offering residents a safe and free way to dispose of unwanted or expired medications, according to a KSN report.

Located at 509 N. Main, the kiosk will be available on the second and fourth Friday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. Residents can also schedule an appointment by calling City Hall at 316-531-2321.

The MedSafe kiosk accepts prescription, controlled and over-the-counter medicines. Items such as needles, syringes, inhalers and other hazardous materials will not be accepted. All collected medications will be destroyed through incineration, following federal Drug Enforcement Administration standards.
