Funding to aid e-street.com growth

March 12, 2002

LONDON - English public kiosk provider e-street.com plans to keep building new roads to the Internet after raising more than $500,000 from investors and shareholders, company officials announced on Sept. 18.

Company plans include the raising of another $2 million from institutional investors. The funds would allow e-street to expand to 34 cities in the UK during the next year. Currently, the company's kiosk service is available in London, Bristol, and four Irish cities.

The system allows users to access Internet-based guides to each city, including information on restaurants, hotels, and shopping facilities. The information can also be accessed through the Internet and wireless access phones.
