The Orlando Sanford International Airport is the latest airport to offer the FuelRod mobile charging service with four automated FuelRod Power-Ready-to-Go SwapBox kiosks, according to a press release.
Along with expanding coverage in the eastern U.S. and Orlando area, Tricopian, Inc., a San Diego, California-based developer of the FuelRod mobile charging service for smartphones and tablets, has opened a dedicated operations facility in Orlando to support its growth.
Joining BOS, CLT, ATL, JFK, PHL, IAH, RDU, SAN and other airports, SFB is the 35th U.S. airport to offer the portable power convenience to travelers. Visitors will also find kiosks located at the region's theme parks and resorts, including Aquatica, Discovery Cove, SeaWorld, Walt Disney World, Universal and other attractions.
Instead of trying to find an electrical outlet or available charging station, travelers can purchase a fully charged FuelRod battery kit from any of the SwapBox kiosks and charge up Apple or Android devices. Not only does this provide a more relaxed travel experience, but it also offers travelers time to shop and dine during their stay at SFB, according to the release. Once the FuelRod is depleted, users can swap the used FuelRod for a fully recharged battery for a fee at any SwapBox kiosk within the global network — including airports, theme parks, attractions, convention centers and more.
