Frozen yogurt shops with kiosks see sweet rebirth
August 26, 2010
Three decades after chains TCBY and I Can't Believe It's Yogurt grew and fell on the restaurant scene, frozen yogurt treats are re-finding favor, bolstered by the kiosk self-serve concept, according toThe Kansas City Star.
The Pinkberry chain first gave customers the chance to pour (or download?) their frozen yogurt by offering flavors from a kiosk. "Then somebody had the bright idea of putting up a line of machines for a self-serve model, and the concept took off like a rocket," Alan Stribling, owner of two Kansas City yogurt stores, tells the paper.
