Engie Group, a France-based energy multinational company, has, through its Engie Vianeo EV brand, selected Siemens to equip 64 freeway rest areas throughout France with EV charging stations, according to a press release.
The Engie Vianeo network includes 251 Sicharge D 300-kilowatt chargers and 69 Sicharge D 160-kilowatt chargers that can be upgraded to 300 kilowatts.
The charging hubs include up to 24 charging points.
The EV chargers are deployed on the Société des Autoroutes du Nord et de l'Est, Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône, Société des Autoroutes Rhône-Alpes and Vinci Autoroutes networks.
Each station can charge two vehicles simultaneously and can charge up to 80% in 20 minutes.
The stations feature a 24-inch display screen.
"Because of its technical performance and commitment to decarbonization, Siemens is the ideal partner for this project," Didier Liautaud, managing director of Engie Vianeo France, said in the press release.
